The Ladies Auxiliary of Club Italia launched in 1981 with by four women. What started as an idea to bring women together to support club activities quickly blossomed into a dedicated group whose reach now extends well into the Niagara community. In addition to purchasing equipment for the hall kitchen, furnishing the grand entrance and lending a hand to club events as needed, Auxiliary members have hosted spaghetti dinners, talent shows, craft shows and other fundraisers through the years.
For more than 35 years, the Auxiliary has donated funds to local charities, supporting Project Share, Heart Niagara, Tender Wishes, Nova House, Hannah House, Down Syndrome Niagara, Ronald McDonald House just to name a few.
The Auxiliary along with the Members of Club Italia continues to work towards Club Italia’s commitment to the Niagara Health Foundation, raising more than $450,000.00 and helping to purchase much needed mammography diagnostic equipment. Two rooms at the GNGH Emergency Room are also named in Club Italia’s honour.
Staying true to their roots and rich cultural heritage, the Ladies Auxiliary of Club Italia remains a group with big hearts and a strong determination to make a difference by helping others.
